The Featured Book of the Week is Beneath a Marble Sky: A Novel of the Taj Mahal by John Shors. Princess Jahanara, daughter of 17th century Indian emperor Shah Jahan, schemes to protect her family from her ruthless brother in this colorful, romantic novel. The story has a strong, likeable heroine and plenty of palace intrigue. Highly recommended!

The Featured Book of the Week is The Amber Room by Catherine Scott-Clark and Adrian Levy. One of the most valuable works in the history of art, the Amber Room was sent by Frederick I of Prussia to Peter the Great in 1717. When the Nazis swept into St Petersburg, it disappeared from view, never to be seen again. Published in May 2004.

The Featured Book of the Week is Prince Among Slaves by Terry Alford. Born in 1762, Abd al-Rahman Ibrahima was a prince from Futa Jallon (in modern Guinea) who became a slave on an American plantation. This is the first full account of Ibrahima's life, pieced together from first-person accounts and historical documents.
