December 31, 2004 - I've updated the Royal Books page with new royalty books published in January 2005. I've also updated the James II and Maya book lists. I'm still too ill to update the news page, but hope to be able to do that soon.

The Featured Book of the Week is Monarchy in South-East Asia: The Faces of Tradition in Transition by Roger Kershaw, which is about the history and contemporary role of monarchy in southeast Asia, including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Cambodia, and Laos.

December 30, 2004 - I am sick with the flu and won't be able to update the news page until I'm feeling better. I'm sorry for the delay.

However, I have added some new books about Egyptian Pharaohs, Julius Caesar, Tiberius, Justinian, Charles V, and Napoleon; and a movie about Augustus Caesar.

December 15, 2004 - I finally have my new computer, and I'm rushing to get caught up on everything. I've updated the Royal News page.

December 13, 2004 - Updated the Royal News page. I'm still without a good computer, so I probably won't be able to update the site again until Wednesday.

December 10, 2004 - Updated the Royal News page. The Featured Book of the Week is The Making of Alexander by Robin Lane Fox, which takes you inside the making of the recent Oliver Stone movie about Alexander the Great. The book contains dozens of color stills from the film and candid interviews with its stars.

December 9, 2004 - Due to computer problems, I won't be able to update the site much for the next week or so, and I may not be very quick at answering my email during this time. My apologies for any delays.

December 8, 2004 - Updated the Royal News page. Also updated the British Royal News page. Added a book about Napoleon and a link about Jordan.

December 7, 2004 - I've finally updated the Royal News page. (Sorry it took so long. I was delayed by computer problems.) I've also updated the Japan news section, and added books about Gilgamesh and Alexander the Great.

December 3, 2004 - Updated the Royal News page and the Frequently Asked Questions page. Added a book about Early British Kings.

The Featured Book of the Week is The Gifts of the Magi by Caroline Vaughan. This keepsake book from The Metropolitan Museum of Art tells the story of the "Three Kings" and explains the significance of their gifts. It discusses how frankincense and myrrh were grown, harvested, transported, and used. Includes 24-karat gold in a glass bottle, and sachets of frankincense and myrrh.
